This is the story of two OU graduate students- so young, naïve, and unsuspecting, entered class one hot, August afternoon.

Hester Hall 213 B

World Economic Development

Dr. AJ Kondonassis

This was the first time we met (Ruth's first class of Graduate School, Tim's last class).  A few weeks into the semester we began hanging out after class for a couple of hours talking in the Economic's Graduate Student Lounge.

December 11, 2000

Tim came to my apartment and ordered a pepperoni pizza from Pizza Hut.  We watched Boston Public and Ally McBeal and played You Don't Know Jack on the computer.

December 18, 2000

First, we went to Macaroni Grill in OKC, afterwards, we drove around Bricktown.  We went to the OKC Bombing Memorial- it was so cold.   But it was also peaceful.

December 19, 2000

First, we went to Unbreakable (film).  While the movie was disappointing, we had a good time.  After the movie we watched Austin Powers at my apartment.

December 21, 2000

We went to the Library (bar) and got a pizza.  After, we went back to my apartment and watched David Letterman.  We ended up having a heart to heart.  I seriously did not expect to hear from you again.

December 24, 2000

On my way home to Arkansas, you called me as I was approaching the Bobby Hopper Tunnel (you were very surprised Arkansas had a tunnel).  I was glad to hear from you.

December 31, 2000- January 1, 2001

We watched Muppet movies all night.  Let's see, there was Muppets from Space, Muppet Treasure Island, and the Original Muppet Movie.  Are you a whatever?

January 5, 2001

We went to Dallas to get your car plates and driver's license.  After finishing chores, we went to Dallas and rode the train to the West End.  We went to Planet Hollywood.  On the way, we ran into some guys selling roses.

January 18, 2001

To celebrate my birthday and one fabulous month- you sent me a dozen of the most beautiful red roses at work at the International Programs Center.  It definitely made me feel special.

January 19-21, 2001

Friday we went to the Olive Garden.  Saturday we went to The Family Man (film) at the theatre in Yukon.  After we went to dinner on Garth Brooks Blvd.  We drove around and you showed me your high school, church, accident sites, etc.

Sunday, you and your parents came to Norman and we all went to the Sooner Championship Celebration - Boomer!  Sooner!

January 26, 2001

The weather was turning bad and if you came to OKC, you would have missed work.  So, I came to Dallas.  You had dinner ready (and strawberry wine).

February 2-4, 2001

I came to Dallas, we and my brother and his wife (John and Melody) all went to see the Harlem GlobeTrotters.  Afterwards, we went to TGIFridays.   Saturday we went to Don Puablos and hung around your apartment.  Sunday we went to Abundant Life Church.  After church, we ate at Chili's and then visited local Wal-Marts.  That's where I met my Wal-Mart hero, Rick Fresh Asst. Mgr.  However, we did find a really good fudge shop.

February 9-11, 2001

Friday we went to see Sugar and Spice (film)… it was funny.  In the morning we hung out at my apartment.  Sunday we went to church with your family.  Afterwards, we went to lunch at Urbania.  We spent the afternoon with them at your house.  (What was to be the beginning of a year and a half of Sunday afternoons so spent).
